Agent Carter Case Study

     This clip from Agent Carter uses a wide variety of technical elements to depict the struggle of women in agent positions, and her struggle to ne recognized.       In the beginning scenes Peggy loses someone close to her. During the scene she's wearing red lipstick which could depict power or love. The scene contrasts this control with her lack of control over Captain Americas decision to sacrifice his life. Setting up Future scenes, depicting how her gender effects her in the workplace.       In the workplace Agent Carter struggles for recognition. She is placed way in the back of the office, connoting that she isn't seen as important. She is also referred to differently by the other characters, being called darling and sweetheart, which may be perceived as demeaning. Depicting the mental chaos and day to day struggle of someone going through these symptoms.  How is the audience encouraged to feel and respond to the characters, and how they understand what the storyline is about.  The audience is encouraged to feel trapped and suffocated by the overwhelming editing choices and jarring visuals, allowing the character to relate to the trapped and overwhelming feeling that comes with withdrawal.
