Movie Analysis

 Storytelling: 15 Practitioner  The story seemed simple at first, two men discussing women over a game of chess. They discuss their love interests, one has a wife, the other is hitting on a married woman. While the twist seems obvious when you say it that directly, the movie does a great job slowly revealing this information over time. Leaving the audience repeatedly and increasingly shocked.  Camera Work and Editing: 20 Expert  This is a simple scene, two people playing chess. But the camera work really sets the tone. Sharp close ups and low angles show the invisible competition between the too. There's the obvious competition in the chess game but the invisible competition, of one realizing the girl the other is talking about is his wife, and the other characters sudden realization that of that fact later in the movie. The camera shots cut between the two, sometimes highlighting the chess game when plot relevant, this helps show the comparison between the character...

The color is very monotone with differing shades of grey populating the scene, this helps illicit the drab, mildly depressing tone. The poised facial expression Tony Soprano wears aids with allowing the audience to infer the tone, he is there to show his support even if deep down he really doesn't wanna be there. Tony is wearing a dark coat with dark long pants, similar to the grey, depressing atmosphere the scene portrays. The scene then shows more of the rehab center, with many winding corridors and hallways. Tony is made to sign papers, his facial expression shows mild annoyance towards the formality, contributing to the boring and slow tone of the seen. He then opens the door and sees AJ (his son, the person he's visiting) standing there waiting for him, standing slight off to the side looking in his direction, like Tony he is also wearing all black, although he isn't wearing...
